All about Baretto Espresso Bar in Mérida, Mexico

The Baretto Espresso Bar is a small cute espresso bar on Calle 47, right next to café Marmalade 47. You can get a few snacks for breakfast (e.g. paninis and croissants) or a small lunch (e.g. salad).

But you should know that the selection is rather limited and the focus is clearly on coffee - which is among the best in the city. This also includes iced coffee, latte, etc.

The portafilter machine of the Baretto Espresso Bar is from La Marzocco. The Italian company La Marzocco is particularly known by connoisseurs around the world for its high-quality espresso machines and coffee grinders.

The espresso bar is housed in a small old colonial house typical of Mérida, with high ceilings with exposed beams and ceiling fans. There is also the typical pasta tile floor, although it is not an old floor. They say they are the first espresso bar in Merida.

The Restaurant Row

Baretto Espresso Bar is located on the so-called Restaurant Row (Corredor Gastronómico) that extends about four blocks east on Calle 47 from the south traffic circle of Paseo de Montejo. The whole street was renovated in 2023 and there are some of the best restaurants and trendiest cafes in the city.

You will find the fine restaurants Olivia Enoteca, 130 Grados Steakhouse, Catrín or Micaela Mar & Leña, the cafés Cafetería Impala, Baretto Espresso Bar, Marmalade 47 or Latte Quatro Sette and the cantina El Lucero del Alba.
