Memories of the Present
The Times They Are A-Changin
Looking for inspiration, but not in the mood to read long texts? Prefer to let images speak for themselves? Then this might be just the right place for you.
Here you’ll find photo blogs about different locations and themes. I’ll admit – I’m always chasing the beauty in a photo. So yes, the colors may be a bit more vivid than in real life.
But isn’t that how memories work, too? A moment passes, and it’s already in the past – yet something about it stays with us. These photos are glimpses of the present, frozen before they fade.
You can filter by location and even the time the images were taken. Once opened, images can be viewed fullscreen. Please note that all photos are protected by copyright.
Through My Lens
My first trip to Mexico was back in 2004. Digital photography was still pretty new, so I gave some of those early shots a little AI magic. For the photography nerds: that year I bought my first DSLR – a Canon 20D (8 megapixels, 9-point AF). These days, I’m using a full-frame Nikon D750 (even though the DSLR era is kind of over and the real magic now happens in post-processing).
After that first trip, I returned to Mexico several times – though mostly not to the Yucatán Peninsula. So yes, there’s a bit of a time jump. You’ll notice that in the older photos of Chichén Itzá – especially the ones showing people at the top of the Kukulcán pyramid. Climbing the 365 steps has been forbidden since 2008.
And here’s a secret: Look closely – somewhere in the Hacienda photos, you’ll find the artist.
