All about Plaza Altabrisa Mérida in Mérida, Mexico

Located in the north-east of Merida, Plaza Altabrisa, which has been around for some time, has managed to hold its own against newer and larger shopping centers like La Isla Mérida Malltertainment or Galerías Mérida.

It is a large two-story American-style shopping center. Many internationally known brands are represented, such as Benetton, Puma, Levi's, Nine West, adidas, Swarovski, Tous, Tommy Hilfiger or Springfield.

Of course, there is also the obligatory food court, where you will find the typical fast food chains such as Burger King, KFC, Subway, Starbucks or Pizzahut as well as some local restaurants.

There are two large anchor stores at opposite ends: Sears and a grocery chain called Sorianna. Like in the other big malls, there is also a Cinépolis movie theater. And you will find a gym, bowling and a fun game place called Recorcholis.

The "Leones de Yucatán" are Mérida's baseball team. Founded in 1954, the team has built up a rich history and a loyal fan base. If you're a fan (or want to become one), the Leones store in the mall is the place to be.

Especially at weekends, families come to simply spend time in the shopping center and browse through the stores. Especially when it's really hot outside, strolling around the malls is pretty popular with the locals.

The parking spaces are free of charge. Even if the heat in Mérida is too much for you, a shopping center like this can be a nice way to cool off.
