First-Hand Insights on Pipiripau Bar
There are lots of ways to end up picking a bar – maybe you check reviews online, get a tip from someone, or just happen to walk by. So how did I find this one? Honestly, I was just curious about what was hiding behind that intriguing name.
The Pipiripau Bar in Mérida is a classic authentic Mexican bar with Caribbean influences. Authentic also means that the bar is popular with locals. The charming bar is centrally located, near the Parque de Santa Lucia.
The atmosphere is laid-back and rustic, making it a great spot to unwind. You can sit inside or in the beautiful courtyard/garden. There is a dance area and on certain days live bands play Salsa and other Latin sounds or a DJ is on site.

By the way, you can also order a "Pipiripau", the cocktail consists of bourbon, orange juice and some albahaca (basil). And if you are hungry, there are snacks to eat, like quesadillas, empanadas, salads or sandwiches.
In the afternoon and early evening it is usually still quiet, then it fills up and around 11:00 pm Pipiripau is typically the busiest.
