Voltacafé Santa Lucía
Voltacafé Santa Lucía is, as the name suggests, not far from the Parque de Santa Lucía. It is one of the many cafes that are (very) unimpressive - not to write, uninviting - from the outside but really come into their own on the inside.
Art and tradition are important fundaments for the cafe. The cafe together with the bookstore "Between the Lines" (with English books) and a few other small stores (including arts and crafts) form the Plaza Carmesí.
You can sit in the cafe or in the quiet courtyard, which is landscaped with some palm trees and umbrellas like a small garden with a pebble floor (a very casual atmosphere). In addition to various coffees, there are well done sweets and savories to choose from.
A good Wi-Fi connection will please especially the digital nomads. You will find another Voltacafé in the north of Mérida in the neighborhood Altabrisa (Calle 20 by Calle 15, No. 235). In addition to its own website, you can also find Voltacafé on Facebook and on Instagram.
Food
There is not only coffee, cappuccino or frappes, you also get something to eat. In addition to sweet items such as waffles, filled croissants, conchas and cakes, you can choose from sandwiches and baguettes, hamburgers, salads, omelettes and meat dishes.
